Installing Xampp

 
Download the Xampp windows package from http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html
scroll down the page and choose the "installer" package.

Once downloaded please double click on the xampp*.exe file to start installing the server.


This will start the installer and is the first screen to installing the server.
Click on next to continue.
 
Second screen from the installer will ask you to choose a language.
You have a choice of  Deutsch, English or Japanese.
Choose one and click ok.

The next screen will ask you to make a choice about the destination folder to install your server.
It can be any drive on your computer.
The default is set  to "c:xampp" can be changed if you choose but I would leave it as is for now.



The next screen there is another choice to make.
There are a number of check boxes in groups leave the default checked.
We will come back to services later on.
Click the install button.



Now the installer will start installing the needed files.
Please Note: That install takes time depending on your systems resources also you may
see some black command boxes this is normal and is the installer doing its work.


Once done installing you will see this screen.
Click the finished button.


You will be ask one more question before the installer is finished.
Click the No button as we will cover the control in the next section.


Congratulations! you have installed your Local web server!
